Vaclav Cerny has been hailed a difference maker for the Czech Republic as his boss revealed he apologised after a 'SOUR' reaction to being subbed off.

The on loan Rangers attacker was voted man of the match by the fans after opening the scoring in Gibraltar before registering an assist for the second as they dumped the minnows 4-0 on the road to make it two wins from two in World Cup qualifying.

National team boss Ivan Hasek admits he regrets his side don't have more players like the Light Blues forward, making note that the French national team boast around eight players with the same attributes as his man.

Asked about his top marks performance, Hasek said: "I think he deserved it, because he is a player who makes a difference in closed defenses.

"I'm just sorry that we don't have more players like that in the Czech Republic. If you look at France, they have about eight. We have one or two like that."

Cerny was brought off with 11 minutes left on the clock with his reaction to the change put down to him being an 'emotional player'. His national team boss also made reference to the Rangers Europa League tie with Fenerbahce when he was getting a massage during extra-time and looked set to come off for Danilo before telling Barry Ferguson he wanted to stay on - sparking an angry reaction in the dugout at Ibrox from his team-mate.

Speaking to the Czech national team website, he continued: "He was sour for about two minutes, then he apologised. That's just the way he is, he's an emotional player.

"I watched them play with Rangers against Fenerbahce. At half-time of extra time, they already announced on TV that they were going to substitute him.

"He was getting a massage next door, found out and returned to the field. Nobody understood, but he didn't substitute. That's just how Venda is, he doesn't want to leave the field. What was worse was that several players didn't want to."

Meanwhile, Lee McCulloch reckons Rangers are sitting on a midfield goldmine in rising stars Nico Raskin and Mohamed Diomande.

The former Ibrox man believes the pair could eventually leave for big money if they continue to rise under Barry Ferguson.

Raskin earned a first senior start for Belgium in their Nations League win over Ukraine on Sunday. And McCulloch said: “He could be an asset. He’s fortunate he’s managed by a midfield player in Barry so he can lean on him for anything advice-wise.

“He’s been brilliant, he’s got a little of everything, quite aggressive, presses really well, good use of the ball, passes forward. He’s got good energy. Barry won’t be letting him drop his standards.

“Diomande has scored a few important goals and, as long as he keeps progressing, he could be another the club could make a bit of money on.”

Elsewhere, Hamza Igamane was an unused sub as Morocco kept their 100 per cent qualifying record intact after dumping Tanzania 2-0 to make it five wins from five.

Rabbi Matondo also took to social media as Wales grabbed a last-gasp point on the road at North Macedonia. Former Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski pounced on an error to slot the home side ahead in the 91st minute.

It looked like it would be a defeat for Craig Bellamy and his troops but Matondo - on for the final seven minutes - and his colleagues dug deep and grabbed a leveller six minutes into added-time through David Brooks to spark wild scenes on the bench and stands.

Matondo took to social media to share a picture of the goal celebrations with the caption: "Until the very end!." accompanied with a Wales flag and clapping hands emoji.
